This video is startling, as a Presidential candidate chooses to clearly and directly answer a question posed to him by the inimitable Wolf Blitzer (who sometimes moonlights undercover at Luther Seminary under the pseudonym "Dr. Fred Gaiser"). While I am not attempting to make any sort of political statement in this post regarding my future voting intentions, Mr. Huckabee's response is showing himself to be both a notable and admirable candidate. Having the vantage of the son of a Christian evolutionary biologist, I take no issue with his non-coercive statements of honest ignorance. I don't expect a politician to explain the intricacies of how an organelle functions; why should we expect him to defend biological evolution to us?. And I'm curious if any at Luther would challenge the theology he defended (scant as it was in the soundbite, and use of "He" notwithstanding...).
